"Wait & See (Risk)" (stylized as Wait & See ~リスク~; translated to Wait & See ~Risk~) is a song by Japanese recording artist Hikaru Utada from her second studio album ''Distance'' (2001). It was released as the album's second single on April 9, 2000 by EMI Music Japan. Written by Utada and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, "Wait & See (Risk)" is a R&B and rock song. Two b-side tracks, "Hayatochiri" and "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)", where featured on the single.
"Wait & See (Risk)" received positive reviews from music critics, many who highlighted it from the parent album and labelled it a "masterpiece".〔 It achieved commercial success in Japan, with a peak position of number one on the Oricon Singles Chart and a million certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The single remains the thirteenth highest selling single in first week sales, and the fiftieth best selling single in Japan. "Wait & See (Risk)" was written by Utada and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, her second collaboration with them following "Addicted to You". The song was recorded in mid-1999 at Flyte Tyme Studios, Minneapolis, Minnesota and mixed at Flyte Tyme, Edina, Minnesota.〔 Recorded in January 2000 at Flyte Tyme Studios, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dave Barry played the guitar and Xavier Smith played the drums.〔 "Wait & See (Risk)" is a rock and R&B song with elements of dance music.〔 The b-side "Hayatochiri" was written by Utada and produced by her father Teruzane Utada and long-time collaborator Akira Miyake, while "Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words)" was a cover originally composed and written by Bart Howard.〔
"Wait & See (Risk)" was released on April 19, 2000 in CD format by EMI Music Japan, as the second single for the singer's second studio album ''Distance'' (2001).〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Utada Hikaru: Wait and See ~Risk~ )〕 The cover sleeve features four pictures of Utada, posing in different positions.〔 The CD includes the single, the two b-sides, one remix by Baton Girl and an instrumental track.〔 A DVD version was released on June 30, 2000, which included new artwork of Utada in the speed bike, the music video and the making of the video.
